We had Travis Brown and his crew for a bachelor party for Travis. Nice weather and about 5 charter boats and 6 or 7 private boats went out hunting. We covered a lot of ground and we coming up with nothing. I had fished south all morning after starting to the NE. Around 12:30 or so out in the deep due east of Oregon Inlet I found a huge area of porpoises on bait with birds on the porpoise. As we got closer Chris saw a bluefin jump and shortly after we hooked and boated a small bluefin around 80lbs. Dennis on the A- Salt Weapon steamed to me and right away hooked a pair. We missed one as soon as we set back out then hooked a nice fish which kept us tied down for close to 2 hours. The rest of the boats ran to us as well and everyone had action. Later on the Bluefins pushed the porpoise out and everywhere you looked they were exploding on bait, rolling and jumping. We finally caught our bluefin around 3:00 and it was a 95″ fish. We decided to take him for our trophy as it is late in season and the fish are becoming scarce. Frank did a great job in the chair and the fish ended up weighing 475 pounds.
